We would like to remind our readers that Russia celebrates the “Russian Day” tomorrow, Thursday, 12 June. This is an official holiday and offices, banks, schools and most companies are closed. According to Russian tradition also the following Friday is a day off – no one should be surprised if Russian partners do not respond to email and phone.
Millions of people are going to celebrate the holiday day all over the huge country – with folk festivals, concerts, exhibitions, food stalls, sporting events and much more. Also on the main square in Murmansk there will be an outdoor show program and stalls with refreshments.
FLAIT Group also takes a day off on Thursday but will be back for a short workday on Friday.
On June 12, 24 years ago, the Declaration on State Sovereignty of Russia was adopted. One year later Russia’s first president was elected. However, a big part of the Russian population do not know much about what the “Day of Russia” stands for. Many believe that this is the “Independence Day”.
